Update

Whew! Things have been a little crazy around here lately! It's getting difficult for me to keep up with sewing demands as I'm expecting. I won't be accepting custom orders at the moment, as I'm due to deliver in just 3.5 weeks!

Please check back in for an update.

Update and New Stock!

Been so busy with Lil Bean lately! I just have ideas flowing faster than I can sew!

The last week has been quite interesting. I went to the Mother's Day Craft Sale at the Butterdome in Edmonton with a friend. Part of the time I wore the bean in our Lil Bean Wrap, and had so many people come up and ask me about it. Someone actually told me that I should have been wearing a sign on my back advertising. :) They can't help noticing, I know. I have the same thing every time I look at the bean. He's just so cute!

On another note, I've run out of fabric for the black Lil Bean Wrap, unfortunately. I'm hoping my supplier gets some more in soon, but I don't even have a date from them. In the meantime, I'm working on some blue wraps, as well as other items. I'll just introduce a few of em here.

Onesies:
I've started a line of onesies and tshirts for kids. The first I call Rocket Science. I'm hoping to get a few more of them up in the next few weeks too.

Loveys:
The bean needed a small blanket to cuddle, as we were becoming worried about the way he pulled soft blankets up over his face. What I came up with for him was this Star Lovey. Next I made a Butterfly Lovey, and more funky and cute ideas are brewing. Today I did a custom order of loveys for a customer which were somewhat simpler.

Nursing Covers:
A customer requested a nursing cover for her upcoming flight, so this is what I made for her.

BabyBean Poncho:
I made the bean a little poncho he could wear for the colder days in the Lil Bean Wrap. He also wears it other times, when we need something to put on him that's easier and faster than a sweater or jacket. It was a lot of fun to design. I plan to do some soon for girls as well.

So as you can see, lots of ideas and stuff that I need time to make more of! It's so much fun, especially when our little guy can try out the "prototypes" as daddy calls 'em.

Messy Eater Bibs

After searching high and low for bibs for my little guy, who's just begun eating solids, I gave up and designed my own. There don't seem to be any bibs that are absorbent, nice and long to catch all the messes, and hard for baby to remove. The Messy Eater Bib includes all of these features. A layer of soft flannelette backed by cotton terry cloth makes it very absorbent, it's quite long (lil bean is 5.5 months in the pics) and it has a crew neck of ribbing so it can just pull over the head, making it hard for baby to pull off. This bib is a little on the large side for the bean, so I'll be making some a little smaller as well. Stay tuned!

Wraps, Wraps & more

I finally got some more fabric from my supplier for wraps! You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a good quality fabric that's suitable for babywearing. It has to be the right weight (no flimsy t-shirt knits for Lil Bean), and stretch, as well as a good width and colour. ANYWAY - I've listed 3 colours: black, buttercream, and chocolate. They're lovely fabrics! As soon as I was finished my waiting orders, I made another one for myself too. The lil bean and I love it!
In anticipation of Valentine's Day, I've also done another set of Lil Bean Burpers in pink and yellow hearts.
More things should be listed fairly soon - keep popping by Lil Bean's Etsy shop!

MamaBean Poncho

The MamaBean Poncho is for babywearing mothers who'd love to wear their babies outdoors in cooler weather.

I've added some colour options, of which some are combinations that I liked myself. You can pick any two colours or one of my combos. (please refer to by number when ordering)

First Items!!

I've listed the first few things on Lil Bean's Etsy store!! My labels came in - made by PurpleHug at Etsy - so I was able to finish the first of the wraps. Hopefully will get some more stuff up and running soon.

A bit about these first few listings:

The Lil Bean Wrap is what I started with. I've sold several of them already and made some for friends. It all started when I got lots of comments from other mothers when I used my wrap for my son. Babywearing is important to me - it's a wonderful way to nurture your babies while having your hands free. My son loves his wrap, and I love not carting a heavy carseat along wherever I go. It's my hope that other mothers will benefit from the Lil Bean Wrap too.

SnuggleBean blankets - they're what I dreamed up while browsing in the fabric store. Part of the credit goes to my sister, who made a gorgeous blanket for my little guy, but I'd been eyeing the minky and cuddle luscious fabrics for a good while already, wondering what I could make to justify buying some ('some' = a rainbow of colours...) Hence: fluffy, luxurious baby blankets backed with soft flannelette. Come on - every baby needs a soft and cuddly blanket.

And this is just the beginning! Look for more Lil Bean stuff in the next few months...
